NHS Highland Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service

The Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service provides work and health advice and support for colleagues across NHS Highland. The team are specialists in the complex area of how work and health interact. The service; which is impartial and confidential, canĀ advise on work fitness, the need for time off work, workplace adjustments, return to work advice after illness, rehabilitation, redeployment, work related health problems, disability, legislation as it applies to health & the workplace, and ill health retirement. Referrals can be made by colleagues or by managers online at the OH referrals section on the intranet.

The service also provides immunisations, statutory health surveillance medicals, sharps injuries management, and guidance to managers on healthy working environments and methods.

Physiotherapy for colleagues is also available by completing the self-referral form (intranet).

Psychological therapies for common mild to moderate emotional health problems can be provided 1:1 using CBT and trauma focused therapy such as EMDR. The team also provide a rolling programme of group sessions on Life Skills. Referrals can be made by completing the self-referral form (intranet).
